In the skyways, in the byways...
So remember how I just posted that my life's settled down, that I'm not as spontaneous anymore? Well that's not always true. An old dance company called me up out of the blue yesterday. Apparently, one of their dancers abruptly quit, so they're flying me down to California to meet them on tour for a single performance. I have about eight hours to relearn a two hour show I last performed three years ago. I'm writing this during my layover in San Francisco. I'll give photo and video updates from the road, er... skyway. My picture doesn't make me look that excited, but I'm actually looking forward to the weekend. Sorry I'm missing your birthday, Hilary. I owe you a plate of pad thai, a backrub and a late-night conversation.

you're precious. good luck on the show. (i'm sorry, i just can't bring myself to say, "break a leg", it feels so wrong.)
Um, the message didn't show up in its entirety. We are only allowed to see 1/2 while the people sitting just inside the frame of your blog get to see the rest. Dumb them. I want to see it too. What did mom have to say to you?
Oh, and based on Meg's comment...merde
So posting this from my phone didn't quite work out like I'd hoped it would. I'm trying to decide if I should leave it up as a reminder of my dismal failure or take it down because it mars the beauty of my blog. What do you think?
i love that it's so clunky, but I'd probably love it more all cleaned up and ready for a night on the town.
and what's "merde"? English W's
Clean it up. I actually really want to know why you're in San Francisco etc.
this is funny. on google reader, where I first read it, all was well and there. But here, well, this is just terrible. strike my earlier comment, not about merde, about loving it being clunky. I was simply referring to the large yellow sprint banner across the top. Now that I see it here in all it's glory...it's gotta get cleaned up.
Ahhh... this is wonderful? (Not the part about missing Hil's birthday - she'll probably, rightly so, demand double backrubs) but the old company thing. I've seen you learn things lightning fast. You'll be a hit. Merde to you...(tell Meg what it means, I'm too embarrassed).
thanks for this:
"french word meaning 'shit'. Also synonomous in the ballet world for 'good luck'(before a performance)"
sara - why were you embarrassed?
Meg- I can only assume it's because
Sarah never, ever says shit. She is still under the impression that it is really just a typo of the word "this".
Oh, and thanks for cleaning it up, Jem. It's much better now. How did it go?
Oh Val, you so funny. It has to do with the fact that Mom might be reading this. I want to stay in the will.
